Watercolor Building/Business Painting Commission

Celebrate a place of business, landmark, favorite restaurant, etc. with a custom watercolor painting.

Celebrate, memorialize, and honor your home or the home of friends or family with an original watercolor home portrait print. Home portraits make a wonderful gift for newlyweds, new home owners, or those who have moved to or from a beloved home. 

Please read the Crucial Details below before ordering!

The Crucial Details:
Building/Business paintings feature a simple ink drawing which is then watercolored with care and attention to detail. A hand lettered name, a short message (e.g. Restaurant Name, or Proposal 2019), address, or date can be added if desired. Please use the "Personalization" box to type what you would like written on the painting, exactly as typed (we can decide on formatting, spacing, etc. throughout the design process) such as the family's name, the address or city, etc.

Next, choose the lettering style you would like (or "no writing"), and size of the painting, and add the painting to your cart. 

Next, if you would like to order prints of your commissioned painting, you may do that and add the print(s) to your cart. Instructions and details about ordering prints are below, please read carefully before adding prints to your cart.

Oxford, MS locals can use the code SHIPSHAPE at checkout to remove the shipping cost and pick up your painting from my home. 

Once your order has been placed, please email me at gabyrddesigns@gmail.com with attached photos of the building, and we will talk about any other details concerning your commissioned painting and, if desired, added prints.

Adding on Prints of Commissioned Paintings:
Prints of commissioned paintings can be added to your order. You can order a print that is the same size or smaller than the commissioned painting (eg. if you order an 8x10 commission, you can order 8x10 or 5x7 prints, but not 11x14 prints). You can add as many add-on prints to your order as you want to. If you are ordering multiple commissioned paintings with add-on prints, please use the personalization box when you order the prints to note which painting you want prints of. If there is any confusion, Grace Anne will email you to make sure everything is correct. If you want to order prints at a later date, you must let Grace Anne know in your initial email with photos and details so that a scan of the painting can be made upon completion. Prints may take up to 4 weeks to arrive after the prints have been created and ordered. 

Instructions for taking and sending pictures:
Straight-on pictures taken on a cloudy day (or at a time where there are not major shadows) work the best.
Let me know if there is anything in the pictures that you don't want featured in the painting, and please include photos from several angles if possible, especially if there is something you don't want included in the painting that is hiding part of the house (e.g. if there are cars parked in front of the building, please send pictures that show the building with no or little obstructions so I can piece it together).

I do not include vehicles or people in my paintings.

I will include the foliage, landscaping, and sky surrounding the building in the photo submitted, unless you specify otherwise (e.g. one customer asked that I not include any sky in her paintings). If there is any landscaping or details that are different from the photos, please just let me know so I can make sure the landscaping is how you would like it to be painted (e.g. if there are normally potted plants on the patio of the restaurant, let me know and I will add them in).

Once the photos are received and the details has been agreed upon, the painting will be shipped or available for pickup within 1-4 weeks (you will be notified if the details of your order require more time). Please let me know ahead of time if you are on a tight time constraint and I will let you know whether I can make that happen before you order.

Fine Print:
Commissioned paintings are for personal use by the customer ONLY, and may not be reproduced for business, marketing, re-sale, or any other purposes without express permission from Grace Anne Byrd Designs (GABD). The image painted is the property of GABD and may be reproduced by GABD for resale, marketing, and other purposes at any time. However, GABD will never replicate or create prints of commissioned artwork revealing any personal or private details included in the client-approved design (e.g. names, addresses, etc.).
