About Grace Anne Byrd Designs

I am a stay at home wife and mother of three from Oxford, MS. I began making art in 2015 when I learned pointed pen calligraphy for the first time. I fell in love with the rhythm of calligraphy and hand lettering, as well as finding creative ways to break the rules of traditional calligraphy to create custom stationery and art in a playful way.

I began using watercolor when my customers asked for floral and abstract embellishments on their stationery and artwork. As I have learned (and continue to learn) more about watercolor, my style has evolved to a blend of colorful, cheerful, and simple designs incorporating calligraphy and hand lettering. I especially delight in creating collections and patterns based on my original art, and using those same design motifs throughout my products.

As a Christian, I have always been inspired by the world God has created, and the words He has given us in Scripture and hymns. I am compelled and to bring the beauty in this world and His truths together in my work, in a simple and natural way. I have become fascinated by the tiny details of creation; the many types of moss that carpet our landscape; the simplest of brushstrokes and ink blots; these are small details that make a striking statement. Keep an eye out for these designs throughout my art and products, in collections such as This Is the Day and Watercolor Spots.

Thank you for allowing my to brighten your world through my art.
